Town aims to inspire tourism push

Lorne Stelmach

Town officials hope a leading tourism promoter will help inspire local efforts to promote Morden.

The Morden Tourism Marketing Committee has organized a special stakeholders meeting May 7 at the Minnewasta Golf and Country Club at 7 p.m.

It will be a free evening, and everyone who works in the tourism industry in Morden and area is invited to come for an informative evening.

The speaker will be Celes Davar of "Earth Rhythms, Inc." - the recipient of the inaugural Travel Manitoba Award of Distinction for leadership in tourism.

Earth Rhythms is recognized today as one of Canada's leaders in experiential tourism. Their commitment to sustainable tourism practices and support of local communities is at the heart of their passion for inspiring visitors, teams and small groups to align their passions with their purpose and to experience nature, culture, art and cuisine in new and imaginative ways.

The meeting also offers an opportunity to meet and find out more about the Morden Tourism Marketing Committee.

There will be an opportunity to complete suggestion forms with your ideas for future tourism marketing in Morden.

The committee hopes to have two stakeholder meetings each year - one in spring and one in the fall.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Carol Wilkinson at 822-2562 or e-mail to
