The Rosenort Red Hawks returned home with the bronze medal following basketball provincials.

Rosenort headed into the Milk Provincial "A" Boys Basketball Championships (March 15-17) in St. Laurent as the number two ranked team in Manitoba.

And they started the tournament like a favourite almost reaching the 100 point mark in their opening game against the Sioux Valley Eagles shooting their way to a 96-54 triumph and a spot in the semi-finals.

However Rosenort were eliminated from gold medal contention when they lost 71-64 to the Glenboro Panthers in the semis.

Despite the disappointment, the Red Hawks rallied in their bronze medal game to again approach the century mark in scoring with a 92-43 victory over the host St. Laurent Hawks.

Rosenort's Parker Stevenson, who earned player of the game honours in the bronze medal game, was also selected to the all-star provincials team.

The Dufferin Christian Stingers who earned an invitation to provincials as a wildcard entry, lost their opening game, 83-67 to Glenboro and were moved to the Consolation Round. And DCS won their first consolation contest 89-38 over the Hamiota Huskies. They followed that up with another dominating win, this time 89-38 over Sioux Valley.

In the final Dufferin Christian beat the Pinawa Panthers 73-64 to win the consolation title.

Devin Veenendaal earned top player honors for the Stingers in their consolation clinching game.

Meanwhile the Ross L. Gray Raiders won the provincial championship with a one point victory (94-93) over Glenboro.
