Morden e-waste firm expands on recycling 0
A Morden firm specializing in recycling electronic waste is now also offering free recycling of other household appliances.
Exner will now take your old washing machines, dryers and other appliances.
The firm has a new mechanical shredding machine added to their e-waste processing line at the Morden plant which enables very efficient shredding of these bigger items.
This new 'drop off' service is free for anyone who wishes to drop off these items at the Morden plant on Highway 3 just 1 km east of Morden.
"Recycling washing machines, dryers and household appliances is a new stream of Exner's main service, which is processing end of life electronics and recycling the raw material," said Marina Neumann, administration manager.
"The idea came when we experimented with the new shredding machine by running an old washing machine through the process. The washer was reduced to manageable sized pieces in just a few moments".
"People are often stuck with such items after they break down and are replaced by new," said Dave Wilkinson, Exner human resources manager.
"Exner provides a solution for recycling and waste management by preventing such items from going to landfill. And this will create some new jobs at Exner too," he added.
"This new service is free for both residential and commercial customers, just drop off at the Exner plant near Morden."
