Morden man facing multiple charges 0
One bad move led to another, and a local man is now in custody facing a litany of charges.
It all began June 24 when police received a call from a resident on 9th Street around 4:20 a.m. that a neighbor was running back and forth between their houses, banging on their front door, had knocked over some of their solar lights and caused damage to some of their property.
Police arrived and observed a man leave the front door of an attached garage of a home which later was determined not to be his own house. Officers spoke with the man on the street and advised him of the complaint. While speaking with the accused, officers noted him to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance but with no signs of alcohol consumption.
The man continued to display erratic and aggressive behavior when speaking with police. Officers asked if he had taken any substances, to which he admitted to taking acid earlier in the evening while at his residence with friends.
The accused was currently on conditions to abstain from the consumption of illegal drugs.
Police then observed the door frame on the outside of the garage to be split and forced open where the accused had exited. The door inside the garage leading into the house was also damaged in an attempt to be entered. The individuals at this residence were home at the time but asleep.
The accused was transported back to the office where he became combative, resisting police while being escorted to the cells.
Further to this incident, the front doors to the accused's own home were also found to be wide open. Police went to secure the residence then found a small hydroponic grow operation inside.
Upon searching the residence, police located marihuana paraphernalia, a container of chemical isopropyl, $175 cash, 5 cannabis marihuana plants and growing equipment including timers, light ballasts and power invertors.
The Office of the Fire Commissioners was also called and deemed the residence unsafe for any further occupancy.
The 28 year old Jonathan Adam Klassen is charged with multiple offences of Break and Enter, Breach of Undertaking, Mischief under $5,000, Tresspass, Resist Arrest and Possession of Controlled Substance: Marihuana. He was remanded into custody.
