More vandalism in RM of Stanley; shots fired at biz 0
RCMP are investigating two incidents of property damage in the Rural Municipality of Stanley.
The first report came in July 6 about an excavator that was parked in a farmer's field near Road 432 in the RM of Stanley. Officers saw the two front windows were broken and a stone that was likely used was found in the excavator with others nearby on the ground. The damage had occurred within the past two weeks.
The other incident occured July 7 when RCMP were called about damage to an irrigation pipe in the RM of Stanley. The equipment in a field had been damaged overnight and would cost about $1,000 to repair.
Meanwhile, RCMP were called July 5 to a single vehicle accident north of Plum Coulee on Road 306. The investigation revealed the driver had hit a few dips in the middle of the gravel road, lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled several times. Both the driver and passenger were taken to Boundary Trails Health Centre where they were treated and released the same evening.
Also that day, RCMP investigated damage to two vehicles at Pritchard Auto Sales which occurred overnight. The steering column, tail light, driver's window, rear window and windshield were damaged on a GMC Envoy and the ignition and dash board were damaged on a Grand Am. An amount of scrap aluminum was stolen from near the shop.
And on July 4, RCMP received a report that the Sunvalley Coop Farm-Fuel Card Lock building had shots fired at it. An employee had entered a supply room on the second floor of the warehouse when he observed a hole in the east wall.
The investigation revealed a bullet from a high powered rifle had entered the building near the roof, traveling in a diagonal direction through another metal wall, a set of cupboards and through the back wall. Photos were taken, and the excised wall seized. It remains under investigation.
