Orioles fall to Altona Bisons 0
The Pembina Valley Orioles missed a chance to gain a bit of ground in the standings Wednesday as they were blanked 7-0 by the Altona Bisons.
With the loss, the Orioles fell to seven games out of first in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League, as their 9 and 13 record left them in sixth place in the seven team loop.
With the win, the Bisons improved to 13-14-1 and moved up into fourth place at 5 and a half games back of the first place Carillon Sultans.
The Sultans improved to 18-8-1 with a 5-4 win over the St. James As, who saw their record drop to 12-14 and in fifth place at six games back of first place.
St. Boniface, meanwhile, edged Elmwood 3-1, so the Legionaires remained just a half game back of Carillon at 17-8, while the Giants were third at 13-13 and five games back.
The regular season winds down this weekend with action resuming Friday when Elmwood will face Pembina Valley and then a doubleheader with St. Boniface Saturday and another doubleheader with St. James Sunday.
