Morris & Morden next on junior golf tour 0
The fouth of the six round Pembina Valley Junior Golf Tour took place July 25 at the Carman golf course.
And with two weeks to go in the tour sponsored by the Access Credit Union, the top five competitors in each age category continue to jockey for position.
In the 2001 - 2003 category, Maddux Mateychuk continues to lead in overall points with his third win in four rounds. He took his third first place with a nine hole 52 after having come back from a second place a week earlier.
Isaiah Letkeman kept pace in second place just one shot back at 53 after winning the third round and picking up a second in the first round. Coming in third was Jason Suderman with a 64 followed by Rachonne Henry at 65 and Tom Friesen at 69.
Other fourth round scores included Griffin Rempel and Riley Goertzen at 74, Tyler Park at 75, Andrew Boucher at 76 and Eaton Worley at 77.
In the 1999 - 2000 category, Spencer Norrie held on to his overall points lead by winning a second straight round with an 82. He had also earlier finished second and third.
Marcus Neufeld improved on earlier sixth and fourth place rounds by coming in second at 90, while Matt Fehr came in third also with a 90 after having come into the round at fifth overall in points. Dylan Dacquay came in fourth with a 94 followed by Caydon Klassen in fifth with a 97. Klassen had come into the round in third overall, while Noah Robidoux had been second overall, but the latter slipped to sixth in the fourth round with a 98.
Other fourth round scores included Keegan Fraser - 100, Dawson Rempel - 101, Quinton Henry - 101, Rylan Metcalf - 106, Oren Worley- 111, Jordan Deamel - 111, Ryan Thiessen - 112, Noah Goertzen - 122.
In the 1996 - 1998 category, Bart Kaminski had his winning streak halted at three rounds by Jayde Klassen, who shot a 78 after having come into the fourth round at fifth overall in points. Kaminski maintained his overall lead by shooting an 86 to finish the fourth round in fourth place.
Mason Metcalf came into the fourth round in fourth overall and shot an 82 for second place followed by Ben Woelk in third at 84, then Devon Thiessen was fifth with a 94.
Other fourth round scores included Cole Phillips - 96, Noah Letkeman - 106, Joey McNair - 108, Jayden Cox - 109, Ryan Wiebe - 124, Brayden Hiebert - 124, Kaleb Hunt- 129, Joey Baker - 142.
And in the 1993 - 1995 category, Josh McCharles came out on top with a fourth round 80 for an eight stroke victory over Jesse Enns in second and Brad Fehr in third both at 88. Bobby McNair was fourth with a 93. Enns had come into the round in first overall with two previous firsts followed by McCharles in a close second overall.
Each week, there is one event at one of the six participating courses in communities served by Access Credit Union. Each event has prizes for that day, and points will also accumulate over the tournament schedule to crown overall champions in each age division.
The tour continues this week with an August 2 round at Riverview Golf Course in Morris and then concludes August 8 at Minnewasta in Morden.
