Weekly report from the Morden Police Service 0
Morden police also highlighted a number of other matters in their weekly report for July 23 to 30.
Police received a call July 25 from one of the local banks. They had a suspicious $100 bill that had been deposited, and the bill was missing some of the security features. The bill has been sent to the RCMP Forensic lab for analysis.
Police were called that day as well to a cyclist and truck accident at the corner of Wardrop and Mountain St. The 17-year-old cyclist was on the sidewalk travelling north, and the truck had just left the stop sign when the cyclist hit the truck. Police learned the bicycle brakes failed. The cyclist received cuts and bruising and was treated at and released from Boundary Trails Health Centre. The truck received minimal damage.
Police received a call July 25 from a concerned resident about a dog tied up outside in the hot sun. Police attended and found the dog did have food and water available. Information was passed on to the town bylaw officer for further follow up.
And police received two calls about intoxicated individuals. The first one was a man who left a residence and was seen to have fallen. Police located the man, and he refused medical treatment. He was almost home and had a sober person to look after him. The second call was about a woman trying to ride a bicycle while impaired. A family member was on the scene but refused to look after her in this condition. The woman was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged until sober. Police learned the woman was on a court order not to consume liquor. She was charged with breaching her court order and released on a promise to appear.
