Decor Charities Classic a fundraising success 0
It was a great day for a round of golf and some fun Friday August 17 while also supporting good causes.
The annual Decor Charities Classic raised approximately $64,000 this year and has now brought in around $650,000 over nine years.
Spokesperson Dave Schellenberg had commented recently that the golf tournament fundraiser sells itself.
"This year, we sold out the earliest we have ever ... we sold out over two months in advance. So it shows there is a lot of commitment, not only from the suppliers but a lot from the local community as well."
All proceeds from this tournament will once again be divided equally among four worthwhile charities with Decor Cabinet Company matching half of the all net proceeds. The event continues to support its three base charities - Youth for Christ Morden, Pembina Counselling Centre and the Pembina Valley Pregnancy Care Centre.
The fourth rotating charity this year is the Family Life Network. FLN is a team of multicultural creative storytellers sharing Jesus Christ and his teachings around the world through media production inviting everyone to a lasting relationship with God that results in authentic life transformation.
And the guest speaker this year was Herb Buller, co-founder of Kitchen Craft Canada and current chairman of Norcraft Canada.
