ALTONA - 

Do you help people understand banking, credit, saving and budgeting?

Does your organization work with people struggling with their finances? Do you know where to direct people who need help managing their money?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, than Community Futures Triple R has the perfect event for you!

On Thursday, Oct. 16, they’ll be hosting a Financial Literacy Workshop.

This interactive workshop will provide you with financial literacy tools and resources to work with individuals or groups interested in financial literacy.

The day will be divided into two separate learning sessions.

Morning topics will include: working with adult learners, financial literacy resources, money values and myths.

The afternoon session will feature hands-on activities; budgeting, credit, saving/investments, wants vs. needs

The workshop is open to anyone, including: community leaders, elders, social workers, community mental health workers, service providers, youth leaders, people assisting adults and youth with disabilities, drop-in centre staff, church leaders, volunteers, family support workers and anyone else that wants to better help people struggling with their finances.

The workshop will be held at the Altona Curling Club from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost for the full day is $25 per person. (Please make cheques payable to Community Futures Triple R.)

Lunch and snacks will be included in the cost. Please advise if there are any special dietary needs.

Organizers also need to know if you require an ASL interpreter or any disability accommodations to participate in the workshop.

Seating is limited! Registration is required. Registration deadline is Oct. 10.
