Wedding show coming to Morden

Greg Vandermeulen

The Pembina Valley Wedding Show is coming to Morden, and organizer Tyler Whyte said he expects this to become an annual tradition.
“I put annual (in the title) because I’m hoping it’s going to grow, and turn into more,” Whyte, who’s also the owner of Whyte Weddings said.
This year’s show booked fast, and Whyte said there will be a good variety of vendors on hand.
“There’s going to be 25 vendors, photographers, DJs, wedding planners, venues, jewellers...” he said. “The show sold out pretty quickly.”
The Pembina Valley Wedding Show takes place Jan. 16, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Access Event Centre Hall.
Whyte said giving vendors and people planning to get married a venue to meet is invaluable.
“It’s a long planning process when you’re planning a wedding,” he said. “That first point of contact I think is fairly valuable.”
As Whyte Weddings, he has seen a lot of couples tie the knot, and Whyte said what he does is simple.
“I work with the couple to bring their story to their wedding reception,” he said.
While the show will help people just starting the process of planning a wedding, Whyte said it’s not limited to brides and grooms to be.
“Whether you just got engaged and you’re actively planning a wedding or you’re thinking in the future this is the guy or girl I’m going to be with, they should go out and see what’s available and get a good sense of what’s involved in the wedding,” he said.
There are many approaches to planning a wedding and the vendors can help couples meet any budget.
“You can put a wedding together for $4,000, you can put a wedding together for $100,000,” Whyte said. “It’s what that couple wants and the priorities they have.”
Whyte hopes to see growth in the show in coming years, including the addition of a fashion show.
“This year, the first 50 people through the door are going to get a bag full of items from the vendors that are participating,” he said.
