CARMAN - Blizzard Fest is right around the corner, and organizers are looking for a number of volunteers to help make sure the winter festival run smoothly.
The Carman Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the sixth annual incarnation of the all-day event on Saturday, Feb. 6.
The day will kick off with a free pancake breakfast as usual, to be followed by challenges at different local businesses from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other activity events will run from noon to 4 p.m.
Entertainment is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and there will be a chilli supper too. Funds raised through the supper will support the Carman Collegiate graduating class.
Fireworks are set for 6:30 pm, followed by prizes, and family dance from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There are a few changes to the line-up this year.
“We have added a social back to Blizzard Fest this year, with live entertainment by Water & Wood,” said Chamber executive director Nikki Bartley. “It will be a great evening so get your tickets now, and we look forward to seeing you there.”
It takes approximately 100 volunteers to make the day successful.
“This year, we are in desperate need of volunteers to help at activities throughout the day of Blizzard Fest,” said Bartley.
