Another Highway 3 collision has claimed a life.
Headingley RCMP responded to the fatal crash near Brunkild yesterday, Sunday July 15 around 5:30 p.m.
According to the police's initial investigation, one vehicle travelling southbound struck the shoulder, overcorrected, and drove into oncoming traffic just south of Brunkild.
That vehicle struck a northbound vehicle carrying two people. The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Winkler, was transported to hospital. His 45-year-old female passenger from Winnipeg was pronounced deceased on scene.
The 17-year-old female driver of the southbound vehicle and its three other female occupants, aged 38, 11 and 13, were transported to hospital in serious condition. All are from Morden, Manitoba.
EMS from Carman, Boundary Trails, Morris, Oak Bluff and Elie responded along with the STARS Air Ambulance and the fire departments from RM Macdonald and several other communities.
The investigation is ongoing.
