Make your donation count on Nov. 18


There’s never been a better time to help the local community.
The Winkler Community Foundation encourages residents of Winkler and surrounding area to make a gift on Saturday, Nov. 18 as part of the Endow Manitoba 24-Hour Giving Challenge. On that day only, each $10 gift you make becomes $19! The Winnipeg Foundation will stretch each $5 gift made to the Winkler Community Endowment Fund with $1.
New this year for Winkler, the Province of Manitoba, the City of Winkler and Access Credit Union will also contribute $1 for every $5 gift (to a maximum of $2,000 each), with an additional $1,000 stretch from BDO. This is the biggest stretch ever available during the 24-Hour Giving Challenge!

The Winkler Community Foundation will be set up at the Winkler Coop on November 18th from 10am-2pm to talk about the Foundation and its impact in the community and accept donations.
“This is a great opportunity to support the Winkler Community Foundation,” said Myra Peters, Executive Director of the Winkler Community Foundation. “Of course, we welcome gifts at any time, but giving on Saturday, Nov. 18 means extra support. We’re so excited to see what our community can accomplish!”
Gifts made on Saturday, Nov. 18 will help grow The Winkler Community Foundation’s capacity to support a wide range of charitable projects – from daycares to seniors projects, scholarships to play structures, social services to fitness in Winkler for generations to come.
Donations to a community foundation are pooled and permanently invested. Gifts are never spent and the money will always stay in the community. Every year, these investments generate money that is distributed to support local charitable needs. Community foundations provide support that lasts forever.
