Man charged in Carman stabbing

Police have charged a 22-year-old Carman man with aggravated assault after Sunday's stabbing.

RCMP released a statement about the incident today.

According to the statement, officers from the Carman and Morden RCMP Detachments responded to a report of a male being stabbed at a residence located in the community of Carman Sunday, Nov. 12, at approximately 9:20 p.m.

When officers arrived at the residence, they located a 17-year-old male suffering from stab wounds.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the victim and a 22-year-old male had an altercation at the residence. During the course of that altercation, the victim was stabbed.

The 17-year-old male, from Carman, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was identified and located at another residence in Carman, where he was arrested without incident.

RCMP have charged the 22-year-old Carman resident with Aggravated Assault and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.

He was remanded into custody for a court appearance scheduled later today in Portage la Prairie.

Carman RCMP continue to investigate.
