Creativity shines at student art show

ALTONA - 

High school art students in the region will be launching an exciting art exhibit this week.
Participating schools include W.C. Miller Collegiate, Garden Valley Collegiate and Morden Collegiate.
Three of the students are part of a Careers in the Arts rural mentorship program for ages 16-19, under the direction of Manitoba artist Margruite Krahn.
The program is possible through a grant from Creative Manitoba and includes learning to curate a show of their peers.
These students will be curating the show alongside Krahn and W.C. Miller art teacher Jill Ferris.
The opening reception will take place tonight - Friday, May 4 from 7-9 p.m. at the Gallery in the Park in Altona.
The exhibit runs until May 13. Hours are: weekdays from 4:30-8 p.m. and weekends from 12-5 p.m.
