The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba is inviting communities across the Pembina Valley to participate in this year’s “Pave the Way and Walk With Us” events during the months of May and June.
Thousands of walkers throughout Manitoba are expected to come out to raise funds that will be used for valuable programs and services for people with dementia.
More and more people are reaching out to the Alzheimer Society for help as they or their family member face a diagnosis of dementia. The society connects people with dementia and their care partners to support services, education and information at any stage of the journey.
And the annual Alzheimer walks help support that mission.
“Last year, we saw over a thousand walkers joining us to help raise money for people affected by dementia,” said Wendy Schettler, CEO of the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. “It’s inspiring to witness the generosity and giving spirit of our supporters throughout the year and especially at this event.”
The Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer’s is the Society’s largest fundraising event throughout the year, bringing together our staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors and people affected by dementia from all walks of life into one large community gathering.
