ALTONA -

The Curtis Klassen Memorial Fund committee is pleased to announce that they’ll be hosting their 7th Annual Run & Walk To Remember in Altona on Saturday, May 26.
The event is open to all ages. The first event held in 2012 was a surprising success, raising nearly $4,000 and drawing more than 100 participants to navigate the roads of Altona.
Participants ranged from competitive runners to family and friends enjoying time together on a leisurely walk.
This is a 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk. Start time is 9 a.m. at the Altona Centennial Park.  Race kit pickup is between 7:45 and 8:15 am.
All ability levels are welcome. People are invited to come out to run or walk in remembrance of a friend, family member or any special person that they may have lost.  As well, some will participate in remembrance of Curtis Klassen.  Online registration ends May 24th.
Klassen’s life ended tragically in 1990 at the age of 15.
In 2008, his friends launched the fund in his memory.
To date, the fund has raised and donated over $50,000 to local projects, focusing on community, education and sports.
