Many Hands Resource Centre is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Community Bike Safety & Tuneup Day will be held on Sunday May 24, 2015 from 2-5pm in the Morden Park!
Many Hands has once again teamed up with sponsors Country Cycle and Francis Family Homes to offer a FREE bike tuneup day. Not everyone has the knowledge of how to keep their bike well tuned, and some people cannot afford to pay a bike technician to have their bike fixed and/or maintained. Local cycling enthusiasts know that having a bike in good working order is crucial to keeping safe while biking, as well as key to enjoying the ride. Many Hands is pleased to be working together with these sponsors and volunteer technicians to ensure that everyone who needs bike repair services can access those services. Experienced volunteer bike technicians will be on hand to give bicycles a tuneup and get them ready for riding!
The 1st annual Bike Tuneup Day was held in May 2014 and proved to be an extremely popular event. New this year, organizers will be adding a fun kids cyclocross course in the park! Kids can try out the exciting sport of cyclocross, and enjoy pedalling around the park with other kids. (Remember to wear your helmet!!)
Bike tuneup services including basic parts will be offered free of charge. Those who can are encouraged to bring a tin for the bin (stocking up the shelves of the food pantry at Many Hands Resource Centre) or to bring a donation for Many Hands.
Everyone is invited to join us for this event!
